Fairness for Prisoners' Families

Survey for Families and Friends of
People Incarcerated in Georgia

At the conclusion of Commissioner Donald's Address at the GDC Family meeting held on December 10, 2004, GDC officials passed out a survey to friends and family members. This survey asked about the conditions at the facilities as well as responsiveness by GDC staff to loved ones' concerns.

Loved ones had just a few short minutes to respond to this survey before having to turn it back in to the GDC and then meet with wardens and other staff. Fairness would like to give loved ones an opportunity to take their time and answer the questions, not to mention include people all over who can access the internet, NOT just those who are in attendance at the meetings.

If there are family members and friends who you know who do not have access to the internet, we'd very much appreciate it if you could give them copies of the survey to complete and send in.

From Atlanta / Augusta

to the Arnall Building

Take I-20 to Madison, exit 114, US 441. Go south on 441 toward Milledgeville, about 40-45 miles. You will see the Hatcher Square Mall on your right. Look for Dunlap Road at the next light. Take a left on Dunlap. Stay on Dunlap until it ends onto N. Jefferson Street. Take a right onto N. Jefferson Street. Stay on N. Jefferson Street until it ends at a stop sign (you will see the gates of Georgia Military College directly in front of you). Take a left at the stop sign. Continue to South Elbert Street. Take a right onto South Elbert Street. Go to Carl Vinson Highway at the next stop sign(where the road branches into a V-shape). Take a left on Carl Vinson Highway. Continue on Carl Vinson Highway and pass a water tower and the Georgia Veterans' Hospital on your right. The next group of buildings on your right is the Georgia Department of Corrections Central Region Office, Arnall Building.
